The sound of silence. It’s beautiful. I love Kindergarten. I love my quiet house and my pleasant, well-mannered son.
I put Caylie on the bus at 7:15 this morning. I tried to take a picture of her getting on the bus, but my camera is slow and by the time the picture was taken, she had managed to run to the bus, elbow everyone else aside and run up the steps. Oh well. Another mom at the bus stop, who’s youngest daughter is also starting Kindergarten, asked me, “Are you ready for this?” I think my huge smile and “Oh yes, I am!” response wasn’t what she was expecting.
I walked home holding hands with my son while we chatted pleasantly about how he loved playing with bubbles. Then we sat and ate breakfast together. There was no fighting, no bickering, no whining. We watched a cartoon, played playdough and played with action figures. Now he is playing by himself with his toys and I’m going to kick back with my book.
This is just unbelievably nice.
